LYCRA HyFit™ Fiber Offers Improved Runability and Cost Savings to the Disposal Diapers Industry
Comfort and fit are the benefits to end users
Worldwide, LYCRA® fiber brand is synonymous with freedom of movement and comfort. However, what is not so well known is that besides being present in apparel articles for the day-to-day work, walks, fitness, swimwear, underwear and stockings, LYCRA® fiber also provides comfort and fit for babies and adult disposable diapers users.
LYCRA HyFit™ fiber is used along with other raw materials in the manufacturing process of disposable diapers, specifically applied to the parts that require adjustment to the body, such as legs and waist. When used for this purpose, LYCRA HyFit™ fiber provides comfort for babies and adults. LYCRA HyFit™ fiber helps to increase productivity because it has high unload force and high draft capability when compared to rubber. It results in minimal elastic required per unit, minimizes breaks in the customer process, increases yield which can lead to reduced manufacturing cost.
"Although not many users in South America currently know the LYCRA HyFit™ fiber application, both personal care and hygiene industry have used some variation of it since the 1980's, and perceive its benefits as excellent runability," says Jorge Mazzaferro, Central and South America Business Director.
LYCRA HyFit™ fiber is produced at INVISTA’s Paulínia, Brazil, site. INVISTA is one of the largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers in the world and owner of the trademarks: LYCRA® fiber, SUPPLEX® fabric, TACTEL® fiber, CORDURA® fabric and ANTRON® carpet fiber.
